We are down to painting the final room! The question is: What color?
Um…don’t mind the mess. |
I’ve admitted before that I do not have a knack for decorating and would appreciate advice or input anyone may offer. The bedroom directly attached to the front room is a subtle but cheery green and the dining room is a neutral cream color.
Um…don’t mind the mess in the girls’ room either. |
Should we carry the green over? The inside front door will be repainted white but when open will be red–will it be too “Christmasy”? Or would the cream look better? Or maybe another color all together?
We’d like to stick with something light since the room isn’t enormous and would help the house feel more airy. Any suggestions?
HELP!
(pretty please)

I definitely say cream but really, you're decisions have been right on so far : )
I would say for the walls a light blue/grayish color (do you know what I mean?) or a subtle yellow (but I do love yellow so that could be more of a biased preference). This is way exciting though! You need to post pictures of ALL of the rooms when you're finished… or even an update on everything now 🙂
Like this color of yellow http://pinterest.com/pin/18225573462550911/ or this color of blue/gray http://pinterest.com/pin/18225573462758077/
I already suggested a yellow color. Seems like I had a good idea. I also like the blue/grey color, though you already have blue shades in the house.Go for yellow!!! (Not too bright)
I think you should go with a more neutral color, especially if you know you won't be there after the end of the year. That being said, there are some less boring neutral colors that would look nice. I think a darker tan or a pale yellow could look nice in that room. What is your plan for flooring?
Pale yellow is fine, just remember you should probably keep resale in mind. So subtle neutrals are good. Any of the three you've mentioned (cream, green or yellow..even the blue gray would work). But, continuity in color makes it feel bigger (I watch a lot of HGTV), so if the front room is cream, maybe consider cream.
Thank you Kaylee! I loved both of the colors you posted–neither was too strong but definitely had some color. I went with a pale yellow but have yet to slap it on. And yes, I promise to show more photos soon. We're soooo close! The problem is my house is a mess because I don't do much cleaning while I'm trying to get stuff done, haha!
It'll be the rest of the wood floor I tore up from the living room. I think I'll leave it unstained, like the dining room but we'll see once I get it painted and the floor laid.
Apparently I need to watch some HGTV! I am a terrible decorator and wouldn't have even thought of that technique. Thank you for the tip Whitney!
