We had a wonderful few weeks in Nebraska with friends and family for the holiday season, but now the vacation’s over and it’s time to get back to work. There are walls to construct, rooms to paint and furniture to finish. I admit, after being out of the routine, I’m struggling to get back into the groove (What’s my bank password again? What’s the bread recipe? Where did I put all those tools?). Though I’m happy to get back to a schedule, I’m already a bit sad the fun is over.
We’ll miss the cousins . . .
. . . the friends . . .
. . . the friends’ bunnies . . .
. . . fixing and FINALLY driving Jack’s Mustang . . .
First drive in about ten years! |
. . . the music making . . .
. . . the impromptu recitals . . .
. . . Santa Grandpa . . .
. . . the grandmas . . .
. . . and great grandmas . . .
. . . the art lessons . . .
. . . the food . . .
. . . the runner’s high after a race . . .
Like it says, Happy Rachael. |
. . . the chickens . . .
. . . staying up late . . .
. . . and falling asleep wherever and whenever we feel like it.
Our two week vacation was full to the brim and though hectic, it was thoroughly enjoyed. Now rested and content we were able to see so many and accomplish so much, it’s a boon that will hold us over until we see everyone again.
