In keeping with tradition, we made our annual trek to Nebraska for the 4th of July and while it was a lot more tame than last year’s explosive fun (quite literally), it was still enormously entertaining.
We learned new skills…
…ate a little too much…
…slipped down a water slide…
Messed up hair really bothers Kate at the moment. |
…had a few bad hair days…
(But hey, it was vacation! Who cares?)
…wore some silly hats…
…had a stare down between my sister’s dog Ruby and Nova the kitten…
…made world record-sized pancakes…
…donated blood…
Home improvements = never ending fun! |
…did some home improvements, on my sister’s house this time…
Don’t worry honey. You’re way hotter than Thor., even if you’re wearing a women’s jacket. And you’re taller, apparently. |
….sized up Thor on a Haymarket date night…
…cuddled some adorable (and very noisy) goslings…
…watched movies with cousins…
Poor Raven! |
…dealt with one very drugged-up dog who hates fireworks…
…played. A lot…
Oh, Claire! Trying to smile through the tears. |
…visited great grandma…
…and met another great grandma…
…caught parachutes…
…had some awesome naps…
…even during fireworks…
…until the finale, when even heavy duty ear protection isn’t enough to keep from startling you, causing you to kick yourself out of your chair and roll head over heels. That was a good finale!
And, of course fireworks!
Fireworks!
And more fireworks!
We hope you had a wonderful Independence Day, celebrating the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave!
